Airtel to offer customized Opera Mini browsers to its customers

Bharti Airtel has partnered with Opera to offer Airtel mobile customers across India, South Asia and Africa a customized and co-branded version of the Opera Mini internet browser.

The telecom operator is hoping to leverage Opera Mini's unique proxy-server-based technology to compress data by upto 90% and decrease their customer's data transfer costs. According to Opera, Opera Mini has a very small footprint and high level of usability, allowing it to provide a consistent user experience across a broad range of handsets.

Speaking on the partnership, K Srinivas, President - consumer Business, Bharti Airtel, said: "We are excited to bring a superior browsing platform to Airtel mobile customers across India and South Asia by leveraging Opera Mini's tried-and-tested set of solution. We are confident that this association will be instrumental in helping us deliver a truly customized, enhanced and optimized browsing experience for our data users".

Audi Q3 launched in India at rs 26.21 lakh

The Indian subsidiary of the leading German automotive giant, Audi India seems to be on a launching spree. The company has launched a couple of vehicles earlier this year and now they have introduced the majestic SUV, Audi Q3 in a soft launch on Wednesday.

This SUV was anticipated as one of the most eagerly awaited launches in the country, since quite some time. This soft launch comes very close to the quite introduction of their splendid Sedan Audi S4, which took place just a couple of days before.

Spice launches 'Stellar series' starting at Rs 6,499

Spice today launched its range of new Andorid smartphones. This new range of smartphones is launched under the name " Spice Stellar" and would be available in 3 devices with varied screen sizes - 3.5-inch, 4-inch and 5-inch.

Spice Stellar is powered by Android 2.3 Gingerbread OS, which is upgradable to Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich. The update will be made available towards the end of July 2012. It runs on a 1 GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon processor. The Stellar has a 4.0-inch touchscreen. The smartphone also boasts a 2000 mAh battery. The smartphone also shows off dual-sim abilities, has a 5 MP rear camera and a VGA front facing camera.

Micromax to launch 1 GHz Superphone A52 next week

Micromax is all set to launch another Android handset in the value for money category - Micromax Superphone A52. This handset is expected to be launched sometime early this week. Micromax A52 will have a 1 GHz processor and its retail price is expected to be around Rs 6,000.

The smartphone will have 1GHz processor with dual SIM capabilities. The phone will be available in Yellow, White and Black and will have a 3.2-inch capacitive LCD.The phone will come with Gingerbread.

Nokia adds three touch phones to ASHA Series

Nokia on Wednesday launched three new phones to the ASHA series, Nokia ASHA 305, Npkia ASHA 301 and Nokia ASHA 311 to expand its ASHA family which was first introduced in October 2011. Currently there are 10 Asha devices available in the market providing young, social consumers with a choice of phones to match their own lifestyle.

Nokia Asha 311 is a fast and fluid 3.5G capacitive touchscreen device, powered by a 1 GHz processor to provide a great internet explorer. The bright and edgy Nokia Asha 305 is a fun and affordable phone, featuring the exclusive Easy Swap dual SIM. Facebook going to vanish by 2020: Analyst

The world without Facebook sounds unbelievable, but after its sliding stocks a hedge fund manager has predicted that Facebook will disappear in five to eight years. According to Eric Jackson, the founder of Ironfire Capital, said, "In five to eight years they are going to disappear in the way that Yahoo has disappeared.

"Yahoo is still making money. Its still profitable, still has 13,000 employees working for it. But it's 10 percent of the value that it was at the height of 2000. For all intends and purposes, its disappeared.

Facebook then swept in as the second generation with the wave of social media. The third generation is all about mobile, he said. While the assertion raised a ruckus online this week, other industry analysts wouldn't.

50% car buyers search online before purchase: Google

Nearly 50% of car buyers from the main urban centers research online before walking into a showroom, a Google survey said.

The study was carried out across top eight cities involving 2,791 respondents between January and February. Interestingly, the survey also reveals that of those who research online, over half of them change their choice of change after coming across new information on the web.

According to the study, the 50 percent respondents who went online, as much as 42 percent said they used  search engine as the first source of information followed by opinions of relatives and friends.
